loanstarhunter, check this out ThermAscent. Its made by the ThermAcell people but its made specifically for scents. Thought you might find this of interest.

I wonder if a person could use the spent mat for doe pee later in the season after the misquitos are gone. There several different products out there that claim by heating the scent it travels further and is more effective. I did not get the chance to try it last year.
I'm glad to have a Thermacell for this year... especially after being an unwilling blood donor to the misquito population last season. As far as using the spent mat for deer lure, I'd say ahhhh, probably not a good idea. Re-hydrating the insecticide pad with urine and then heating it up may not be a good thing. Better yet, look to a candle scent system... they're safe, you can pick the type and work pretty well too... absent of heavy winds.

Nearly forgot, I ordered some Deerquest smoking deer lure recently... hasn't arrived yet, but I'm anxious to give it a try this season as well.

I saw a study that mosquittos are attracked to some people more-so than others. If true, this will skew opinions of personal experiences with specific products.

I used "No Stinkin' Bugs" last year and it worked great for me..and I plan on using it again this fall.

Here in Montana the sketeers don't really bite, then tend to just pick you up and carry you off.

I use no stinkin bugs and the thermacell no skeeters near me. If any one is having problems fastening their theracell all you need to do is , Get about a foot and a half of heavy copper wire, wrap around twice and twist tight with plies on the under side , you should now have to ends about 8" each that can be wraped to your stand, branch, tree step , or what ever. Hope this helps.
