Default TUNING YOUR BOW TO THE MAX

hey guys i was wondering if anyone here has ever done a bare shaft shot. This is when you remove all your fleching from your arrows and shot a 20 yard shot and then shoot 3 more with fleching still on it and see how far away is the bare shaft shot. I did this and even though i was shooting great my bare shaft was about 6" lower than my others so i had to lower my nock setting and now its perfect!

Anyone else do this?

When you bare shaft tune .........it's a good idea to put a few wraps of masking tape or something on the nock end of your arrow ! This will help keep your spine and FOC closer to what your fletched arrow is..........while still not having anything on that end to steer it !!

Alot of fishing arrows are bare shaft. Most are heavier fiberglass, With a heavy string attached. I have an old bear coumpound set up just for this type of shooting. Its kind of funny how much time we spend with flechings, light arrows. Throw the fact that you have to figure on the refraction of the watter into the mix, it's a crazy fun way to shoot.
