I recently went to a new pro shop in my area and it was the best experience I have had with a pro shop to this day. The bot tech. was willing to show me how to do some of the work that might be required in the field. I thought this was great as I am not very knowlegable about the art of bow repairs etc......My question is this.

Does anyone tip their pro for a job well done?

That is totally up to you. If you feel your pro warranted such a reward then by all means. He might graciously decline it and appreciate the gesture or accept it and reward you with great service in the future. I know as an outfitter and guide tipping is very normal when we go the extra mile and very appreciated however it is up to the individual and how they feel about their experience.

no, no tipping, however I feel the biggest thanks that you can give them, is your loyalty as a customer, that being 100% of my archery purchases goes to them, and word of mouth referrals. I really like the bowshop/tech I deal with, and NEVER would think of spending my money anywhere else, also I try to get all of my buddies and relatives to go there. The same applies to my gunsmith, and of course if my bill is say $118.50 I give him $120 and dont take the change. (If you want to call that a tip)

I always offer to pay someone for their time, even if I'm just asking stupid questions or shooting a new bow. I have had the same thing happen at other places as well. Like I took a little trailer tire to a tire shop the other day. I let it get so low that it came off the bead of the rim and I couldn't pump it back up at my house. They dinked with it for ten minutes or so tring to get it sealed back on the rim for me, didn't charge me a penny for their time. I have bought tires there in the past though. And guess where I will tell someone to get tires when they ask me for a good shop.

None of the places I go to would except a tip, they just want your business is all. I try to repay them with a good attitude, patients when they are busy, and great word of mouth. You would be surprised how much a shop apreciates when you tell them you are not in a hurry and they can take thier time. Or let them finnish what they are doing before they wait on you.
