I bought a couple of these stands this yr. i could not pass up on the price They seem like real sturdy stands. I hung them both 25ft up. I wonder how well they work in cold weather? But as it looks right now! Not a bad deal.

I have both chain on and strap on stands and have to say the straps are much easier to use on the imperfect tree! They just seem to be more secure and simple to tighten to the tree...my 2 cents!

I plan to add a ratchet strap to make it more secure. I figure I will keep the chain on there, loop it around and put a lock on it.

They are great stands for a great price. I have two chain ons and 2 ratchet strap ones, all in the King Kong version. I add ratchet straps to the chain ons for extra support.

I looked around and found plans for one online, and seeing as I'm a carpenter I figured I build a few a little at a time at work. Then this weekend when I went to dick's sporting goods to put money on my new scent lock outfit, I found hang on stands for 34 bucks, and they were 29bucks if you bught more than one. I can't make them for that much. They're not the best, but there a hell of alot lighter than the two I built out fo pressure treated lumber, and I feel a bit safer on an all welded metal stand. I just got permission to hunt 65 acres five minutes from my front door so I think I'll buy several more so I can spread em out for wind and which time of day I hunt. Plus, I'm learning from here that I shouldnt burn astand out by sitting in it every day.
