Default how do you hunt standing corn?

One of my hunting woods is surrounded by corn fields on 2 sides with beans on another side. I want to hunt the corn because I believe that the deer just hang in there because they have all the food and cover they need. I have a 10 foot wooden step ladder that I want to place in one the corner areas where I have seen several deer and there tracks in. The woods along the fields does not have any trees large enough to support a portable stand. Looking for any tips or stratagies that anyone may have, I know that there are a couple of big bucks in the area.

Do you want a real challenge? If so, I like to spot and stalk in corn. It's not as hard as you might think, But it isn't easy either, The best chance you are gonna have is on a windy day, the wind will cover the noise you make brushing against the corn. I will start at one corner of the field with the wind in my face, I will then walk in about 8 rows, walk inbetween the rows and peek my head into the row looking both ways, do this for about 10 rows, then move down about 20 yrds, and walk another 10 rows peeking both ways, and so on, I have taken a few deer this way, if done right and you don't get busted you will end up with about a 5 to 10 yrd shot, If you spot a deer farther away just try to move down a few rows. If this doesn't sound like something you would like to do, I would hunt the edges of the corn, look for trials going in and out, and hunt them. Iam sure someone else will have more advice for you on this matter, I don't hunt corn much, but when I do I will spot and stalk, Good luck in what ever way you dicide to hunt that area.

I live to still hunt standing corn ,like Bowfreak said its not easy but not that hard . You must be able to slow down . I had a post a few weeks ago on this ,at the top of the page SEARCH ,then auther johnch and topic How to ,hunt standing corn this should give you a few ideas . If you are not into stillhunting try hanging stand(s) at the edge of the corn/woods and a creek, different feild , fence ect .Deer love to move in the edges between . Also calling can pull deer out of the corn , a fawn in destress can pull bucks and does the first 2 weeks or so of the season ,don't over do it with this call . It wil also pull in lots of coyotes ,got 2 in 5 min last year. Have fun and be safe .
