Guys... I read in the '04 - '05 Digest of Hunting and trapping regs that my Missouri hunters safety class is good here in Illinois. I lost my heritage card (which is what I get as a sort of immediate proof). What will a local tag salesman require for me to prove that I've been through the class? If I have last years tags (
) still can I show those? Missouri hunters, do you know of a QUICK way to get proof that you've taken the class??

I have called the dnr for mine before, and as long as you know the time frame that you took it and where they can find it pretty quick. I had a copy sent to me in less than a week. I was in a rush and I pleaded with the lady, but she took care of it.
I think I ended up talking to a lady in springfield.
as a side note, I have never been asked to show my Hunters Ed Card in Illinois.

I took the hunter's safety course in Georgia when I was a kid and lost the card sometime afterward. I've never in 20 years since been asked for a hunter's safety course card.
I don't think they ask for the card to buy tags over the counter here. If someone asks you for your card politely leave and try another store - until you get your card back.

why do you think you need the card?? I have never gone to one of these classes. Just go to any Illinois Wal-Mart and get your tag. Or go to the Illinois DNR site and mail them a check for your archery tag. It is cheaper until September 1st.

As long as you have your license from last year, you won't need to show proof that you took a hunter's ed class.
With that said - I've never once been asked to show my card either. It's a great system we've got in place here.

As a missouri hunter I say forget Illinois, I am boycotting Illinois untill they stop gouging prices on their out of state tags. Besides Iowa has bigger bucks anyway.
