Went to Gander this morning to grab another Tru Ball Stinger as a backup release and just check out the goods.
Just some quick thoughts.
Saw a new treestand by Ameristep I believe that I had seen in Perterson's last month. Nice looking stand and I really liked the way the arms can pivot to "hug" or "grab" different size trees. At $250 though Summit gets my money first........any day. Nice looking stand though.
The NAP Nitron and Crossfire heads look like fine additions to that line...........damn do the Nitrons look small though.
If I was going to buy a mechanical head this year I would certainly get the Montec Tekan. I was amazed at how small the fixed head portion is to look at but the head is just plain nasty looking and I can't imagine it having flight issues whatsoever. With a blade deployment design similar to the Snyper head by Rocky I can't forsee any trouble there either. At $30 for 3 heads though they are very pricey.
The Hypershock heads are freakin HUGE and you better be pushing a truckload of KE to strap one of those bad boys on your arrows.
The Morell Yellow Jacket broadhead target looks very very nice at $35. It is basically a solid cube about 16-18" deep with 10 bullseyes and 4 shootable sides. If you split the price between 2 or 3 guys everyone could have their broadheads dialed in for about $10 each.........and not have to destroy your McKensie or Block while your at it.
Nice to see Gander filling up on archery stuff while the season is still 2 months away. Quality store top to bottom.

yes i just recently found out that my local archery shop guy closed down and now hes working for gandermountain running their archery department up in kenosha wisconsin. hes by far the BEST guy you would ever want to deal with so you wisconsin guys close to kenosha stop by the store. im not sure if its IN kenosha or close to it. but they have been picking up more and more "quality" products in my opinion! BTW atlasman i am trying the new nap nitron heads this year and will let you know what i think of them. i just have to have a shop tune the heads and my new gold tip hunter 5575's..
