Default tree stand question

I went to Bass Pro Shop's hunting sale yesterday thinking I was going to buy one of those comfy lounge all day tree stands. The first thing I noticed is just about all of them are climbers as opposed to hang-on which is OK with me. The problem I see with them is how do you turn around to shoot behind you. With my current hang-ons, I stand up and flip the seat up and I can move around at will. For those of you that hunt out of these stands, can you shoot behind you? Do you have any problems clearing your bow from the seat if you can turn around? Thanks.

Jeff,

I'm not sure which stand your refering to but I hunt with a climber, the Ol'man..and I have no problem shooting behind the tree. Most stands even climbers the seats move out of the way for standing unless I'm missing the stand your refering to.

I think I know what stand you are refering to. Those look to me to be better suited for rifle hunting than Bow.

I think I know the stand too, and david is right. With it, there will be a lot of angles that you just wont be able to shoot from, unless you're a monkey and like to hang from your safety harness and shoot. Although they are comfy, you wont have as many shooting possibilities

Sounds like he's referring to the Tree Lounge. Shooting a 3/4 circle forward looked easy enough, (I saw a video promotion on that particular stand years ago), but shooting behind was not depicted. I'd think it would be a bit tougher to shoot aft from one. The Summit I use lets you shoot where you need to... regardless if it's in reverse.

i have the tree lounge and let me tell you that it is a snap to shoot 360 degrees all around. i can shoot at any position i want. the platform is about three feet away from tree when you are standing on it. you have plenty of room. the only place you can't shoot is through the tree, but gives you the chance to draw when the buck circles behind and goes behind that tree. i wouldn't trade my treee lounge for ten of those other stands. just my opinion

I looked at the API Grand Slam and Summit Cobra X4. Both looked like they would be hard to get a shot behind you. They hug the tree pretty close.

Rob,
I want to be able to sit until I hear or see deer, then stand and swing the seat up out of the way quietly.

Maybe I'll try to find a bow shop that will let me up in one. Then I'll know for sure.
