Go for it if you have to.But be prepared to shorten up you shooting range a little bit.Make sure to get one that you can use a accessory to cock it for you.Trying to pull back one of the 150 to 180 lb pulls can be harder then pulling back a compound

Get that crossbow, and get huntin`!
Remember what Cardeer said though, get one with a cocking crank, or electric cocker, cause they can be a bear to cock manually.
I don`t know a whole bunch about the different types available, but I was actually shooting one a couple days ago. It was a 10-point/x-2 model. Not knowing a lot about them, it did`nt seem so special to me, but the guys that were shooting it said that it was one of the best. It did have a manual cranking mechanism on it, and was easy to work.

Coyote, have you seen or tried any of the devises that will hold your bow at full draw for you? It may be an option for you.

Not that hard if he buys the crank... for $150.00... Makes pulling those 175 pounders too easy. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Talk with the doc some more and clarify things. I would go with the crossbow with hesitating. I would think he would let you hunt if you took it easy. After all you are getting exercise and fresh air. Good luck.

If the Doc says its OK to hunt, then there is nothing wrong with using a crossbow.
I think that disabled people should be allowed to use crossbows! Get well, and good luck!
