RE: Right or Wrong?
It isn't wrong in the least. If that is your only option, by all means use it. Anytime a disabled (or 'unabled' person in your case) person has an opportunity to hunt, traditional or not, I am all for it.
Just my two cents. chad |
RE: Right or Wrong?
I have a friend that started hunting with me this year and I with him. He uses a crossbow because of a permanent sholder problem. He still has to do the same things I do, find a tree, climb, sit and wait, judge distance and shoot straight. You don't have much advantage other than not having to draw it. All the things that can go wrong in a tree for me can go wrong for him. Have a party. Your only problem is..... NOW YOU HAVE TO SPEND ALL THAT MONEY ON A CROSSBOW SETUP.

RE: Right or Wrong?
I feel sorry for you...only because you have to go out and spend a bunch of money. You'll still get the same enjoyment out of the sport as you always did. If you're like me, you'll still get up in the tree every morning and thank GOD you're not at work, and enjoying his creations. It's break my heart to have to retire my bow, but I'd buy a crossbow in a second, and be back out there.

RE: Right or Wrong?
I'd be more worried that the next "Missouri Monarch" will walk out in front of me and I'd die of a buck fever heart attack. Then again, I can only think of one other activity that would be ok to die while involved in, and it doesn't necessarily involve the woods, but it could.

RE: Right or Wrong?
I agree with all the guys here. I would still go hunting even if I got so bad off that I couldn't shoot at all. I love to hunt and a decision of crossbow/bow would be a no-brainer. Just do all you can to stay happy and healthy and good luck next season!

Go for it yote and enjoy life to its fullest. Shame on any one that would deprive you of being able to hunt.

Coyote,
There are thoes who turn there noses up at the crossbow but I am not one of them. I hunt with a Jennings T Master and a High Country Extreme, But I consider the Crossbow more sporting then Hunting with a Rifle. I have seen Deer jump the string on a CrossBow, but never on a Rifle. I am a rifle Hunter too. Hunt with the Crossbow and feel proud that you have the priviledge of doing so. |
RE: Right or Wrong?
Buy a good one and learn to use it, and bowhunt away. Crossbows in archery season are legal with medical permit for people like you - theres absolutely no shame in it.

RE: Right or Wrong?
I think that anything you have to do to participate in something you love is fine, as long as it's legal. I wouldn't care what anyone else thought. I have no doubt that anyone who loves the sport of bohunting would do the same thing, so don't let that bother you in the least.
