Kt,
I do believe that the full moon affects deer movement in that they do move and feed more during the night hours during the full moon.
I don't know about where you hunt, but down here I also believe that the full moon affects the rut when the full moon coinsides with the peak of the rut! For the same reason, they just move more at night during the full moons!

I say f-the moon. You can't kill a deer sitting on your butt at the house.

Greg,
I feel the same way, if I have the chance, I'll hunt whenever! But, the moon does affect their movement patterns none the less!

The barometer has way more effect on deer movement than the moon phase ever will , I don't even check for the moon phase anymore .

I'm new here and was just looking around. This post hit a question I just asked someone yesterday. I am booking a deer outfitter in late October. We haven't set an exact date yet. I was hoping to better my odds byasking if the new moon on Oct. 22 would effect my hunt for the better. If so, I wanted to hunt around that date.

Thanks for the link!!

I love walking to the treestand in the early morning with a bright full moon - no flashlight needed.
