Default Elk setup

I am going on an archery elk hunt in NM in Sept. I need some advice on which arrow shaft and broadhead to use with my setup. I shoot a Hoyt Razortec 29 1/2" draw length at 67#. I want to get my setup complete so I can practice with exactly what I will be using.

What are you shooting now? More likley than not your current set up will be just fine for elk hunting.

I use CX300's at 30 inches with a 125 grain head and three 4" feathers that weight in at 402 grains. I do want to get a heavier arrow though. Not because these are too light to kill elk but the heavier arrow will be a little quieter leaving the bow.

You have a great set up as it is. No need to change a thing. If that set up is working for you now it will work for you in NM, no problem.

You have very good broadheads and a heavy enough and durable arrow. Put the arrow where it is suppose to go and you will have a dead elk.

Good luck!
