Default Good Thing Or Bad thing?

I have been shooting my bow for a year now and just recently i purchesed a wrist sling. I hear people say you are supposed to have a sling because when you shoot your bow you should have the Least grip possible.

Is This True?

P.S. I took another look at the track today I did make a mistake it was a cows!

I guess most people could use a sling, especially new shooters who haven't quite got their form and confidence established yet.

Actually, I shoot a bit worse with a wrist sling than I do without. I've got it adjusted loose like you're supposed to, but it still bugs me. My hand is big enough that I can wrap my index finger around the riser to touch my thumb, without torquing the grip. That is my sling.

I've got a sling on my bow and don't see much need for it. My grip fits my hand well and I have very little torque so I shoot with a tighter grip then most. It works for me.
Others who have issues with torque may shoot an open grip and IMO it is better to have the sling catch the bow then the ground.

All the pro archers shoot with a limp grip and wrist sling for a reason.

Slings are good training devices to help you to trust leaveing your hand partially open. I needed one when I 1st started shooting but quickly overcame the need for it with plenty of practice.
