i have talked to high country and they will tell you that the earlier carbon risers had some problems but thats been a long time ago and they use a diffrent stronger military grade carbon.

8000 dry fires huh? wow...sounds like HCA's promoters are on crack or something. maybe it was just the arrows and not the dry firing? I mean, did you actually see them dry firing that bow 8,000 times???

Good point. We only have the word of the HCA guys that it survived 8000 dry fires. In any case it's still not a smart move to do anything that eventually blows one of your bows up at a hunting expo.

but what is the planing going to be like at 350 fps ? Can you still hit the target with a broadhead consistantly at that speed , or will your arrow be all over the place with the least little side gust ?

This will be my 5th season coming up for my HCA Four Runner and it by far is the best bow I have ever shot. Consistantly 285-290 FPS in full hunting setup with Gold Tip Hunter 5575 @ 64LB. Flatest shoot bow I have ever seen and super quiet. No complaints here.

i believe you guys are missing the point of hca dryfiring their bow it was just a demonstration to show how tuff their bows are and it can withstand a lot of abuse before any failures. I myself thinks that it is good that a company will push it to the limits to show you the quality of their equipment.

Seriously, I shot one HCA bow. I believe it was one of their "top of the line" models from 2 years ago. Thing felt like a .54 caliber muzzleloader going off in my hand.. And yes, I was shooting real arrows.

Yes, the bow was dry fired some 8000+ times at the ATA show 2 years ago (man has it really been 2 years now). The bow was in a lexan case and was being drawn by a machine and then dry fired. There was a counter on the machine counting the number of dry fires. What eventually failed was the cables and strings, not the bows.

On a side not, if you read the Hoyt literature they claim something like 5000+ dry fires with the TEC riser with no failures also.
