Default own food plots

i was just wondering who here makes their own food plots and if so, what it consists of. i have about a quarter acre or so of clover/alfalfa. its really cool seeing deer come in on a plot that you made yourself, very rewarding.

I enjoy planting foodplots and then watching deer eat in them. I plant a mixture of ironclay peas & soybeans in the spring/summer and then come back with buck oats & rye in the fall/winter.

I have one going now with Imperial Clover. It is doing very well now that I got the mustard weed unter control. I still have a few grasses. I know what you mean about watching the deer in it. Last fall while hunting near it I had a nub buck in it for almost 45 minutes. I just kept thinking "eat up and I will see you in about 3 to 4 years". This spring I have seen up to 7 deer in it and it is not quite an acre. I am working on another one to plant this fall. Getting the soil ready does take alot of time but is well worth it.

I just recently planted 26 acres of soybeans for the deer this summer. In late summer when the beans are dead and gone i will plant some oats and wheat to winter the deer on.
