poacher? Is a poacher anyone who breaks a game law? Is it a spot lighter? Is it a tresspasser? What attributes do you personally consider poaching? Please give examples of the smaller things (shooting 2 minutes after hours) as well as the obvious ones (spotlighting).

Shooting out of season.
Buying a license for you wife, Dad, uncle, cousin and your dog so you can shoot five deer.
Shooting with a un approved wepon.
Not taging.
Not registering.
Trespassing.
Theres so many laws and I think that most of them make perfect sence.
I tend to stay in my stand to long in the evening. One half hour after sunset for shooting hours I think normally on a clear day is to early to not be able to shoot.

It doesn't matter what you think. The law is the law. Period. I may think that 6 deer is not enough to take in one season. I still have to abide by that because it is the law in one of the states I hunt.
Not abiding by a game law enforced by the state is poaching in my book. JMHO.

I carry a .357 with me when I hunt with my bow. Does this make me a poacher?
But to answer your question, NO, I think it's illegal and I wouldn't do it, but it doesn't make you a poacher. If you use it while you're bowhunting, that would make you a poacher!

I agree, it doesnt matter what I think the law is the law!!
.357 while huntin with a bow? depends what your State law says.
Here you can't posses a fire arm will hunting deer with a bow.

I personally don't feel like any persons that violates a game law is a poacher. For example, I don't think hunting a few minutes after hours when it's still plenty light to see makes someone a poacher. But, that's just my opinion and I am intersted to know where the line between breaking a game law (which everyone has done at one time or another whether on accidendt or on purpose) and beeing a poacher, in your opinion what seperates that line?
