Welcome to the board first of all....Your main concern with bowhunting turkeys is you want your arrows to stop...Not to pass through...Using broadheads is fine..You will want to put a "star" or something like it to achieve this..Wide spanning mechanicals also work well....Problem with pass throughs and turkeys..is that they can fly at around 50mph..You hit one...they fly (before they react to being vitally wounded ) at that speed...they can be miles away...and very hard to find...Hope this helps..

I would use one of the larger expandable broadheads, such as the rocket hammerhead. You want the arrow to remain in the bird if at all possible. Shot placement is critical on a turkey, so practice all you can.

a great shot on a turkey is when they strut, you can shoot them at the base of the tail feathers when there facing away(this also allows you to draw whil being undetected), another good shot broadside is through the hips, this puts em down in a second.

Shoot a large diameter mech. I prefer Rockets. Take a look at the Sidewinder (1 1/2"
the Miniblaster (1 3/4"
or the Hammerhead (2"
,depending on broadhead weight you desire, these heads will absolutly devastate a gobbler.Good luck

I agree on shooting the biggest head you can find for turkeys..that and trying to pin there wings by keeping the arrow in them either buy putting a washer behind your heads or using a zwickey scorpio..I think Wasp has a great looking turkey broadhead out there!

You can use your same setup for deer and bear, razor sharp heads, and shot placement are the key. That said I will be shooting a rocky Assassin this year for turkeys. It is a mechanical with a wider 3 blade cutting diameter.
