Default 3" feathers with mechanicals?

Anybody tried shooting 3" feathers with mechanical broadheads? According to Gateway Feathers they say you can shoot 3" feathers with mechanical heads. I have soem of my arrows fletched with 3" feathers right now and they are much quieter than the 4" that I shoot. I haven't tried them with broadheads but they shoot like darts with field points. I got my first Robin Hood with the Patriot yesterday when shooting them. I haven't done that in about 10 years.

Mike.

I cant see a problem using Mech's with the 3" feathers specially if your F/P are shooting well.

I have tried the smaller 1.75" vanes with a 3 blade Muzzy and the Magnocks, they shot fine at hunting distances but did plane a bit at the longer distances.

I've been using the 4" and 3" vanes, three on an arrow, with the Rocket Steelheads for a while now.
I've tested them out to 50 yards and can get them grouped pretty well, enough to stay in the vitals at that distance.
It takes some time to tune your bow, it's a hobby I enjoy and spend allot of time at. This is one of the better ways for us to achieve good results.
The more you get to know your bow the higher confidence level will be.
Practise, test--change this & that and you will eventually get the right set up and what you're looking for.

With the 3" feathers and the ACCs or the Lightspeeds, I can actually get a little helical on them as well with a Bitzenberger jig, so I would think they would do fine as well. Doubt seriously if you could get any helical on the nex Axis shafts though.

I would think with mech you should be all right, this is what I am planning on doing.
