Way to go, Epuller! Way to stick with it until you get it! I just thought it was gonna be easier for me to go buy what I'd heard referred to on this board a number of times as "the cadillac of jigs"...

It is nice know you can re-fletch at any time you want to. And, later on, you can dip and then build your own cresting machine for under $20 and get a super-looking product!

I found this on building a cresting machine using a drill. Hope this helps.

Here ya go, Epuller. I built one myself, and it works like a charm!

I'd show you pics of both the cresting machine and some finished arrows, but evidently imagestation's site hosting isn't working anymore -- at least on this site. Even my sig pic's not coming up anymore, it seems like.

But here's the link. I did go ahead and order the Bohning chuck from King archery (or something like that) to make sure my arrow was connected real well. I think that cost me an extra $6.

If you've got any questions, let me know.

I thought I'd go ahead and give it a try anyway. Here's a pic of mine. You can see I pretty much followed the instructions from the link I gave you, although instead of using a "V" block, I drilled a hole through a piece of oak slightly bigger than the diameter of my arrows. This way, I don't have to worry about them bouncing around; they hold rock-steady as the motor spins them.

Here's a pic of my my first set of arrows I did using the cresting machine. I wasn't trying to get fancy yet, but I can tell you, it would have been easy to do. This setup allows for laying down a very thin, fine line.

Thanks MQ1 I had not checked back for the update on the Crester.

One more reason I post here and I will stay here.
