RE: **Bows in support of the Troops in Iraq!**
I heard about this last fall. Again hats off to all the companys who stepped up to the plate. I also heard that one bow company would not get involved or make a donation. Maybe their slogan, "Catch us if you can" has something to do with it. I think their ad showing everyone who shoots their bows might look better if there was a US Serivce person in it. I'm sure the GI's that benefited from the donations will remember those companys when they get home.

Thats awesome. We need more companies like these, not just in the bow business to do this for our men and women out there making sure we can go hunting every year.
Would be kinda neat to get up tomorrow morning to see the news and that we got Osama. Complete with a picture of one of our troops proudly holding his Bowtech posing beside Osama lying on the ground with an arrow stuck in his butt.

There's more to the story but here's part of an e-mail from one of the happy soldiers that we sent these bows to.
This is certainly part of the reason why I'm proud to work for BowTech, a company that supports the U.S. even when they're out of the country fighting for us all.
I would also like to thank all the other companies that help build our troops moral when they're away from home.
God Bless Our Troops...
Hi Jennifer.
I hope you are doing well.
Things here are still going pretty "rough" to say the least. We lost our
first soldier on Monday, so that's been tough for us (1-8 infantry) as a
batallion. But, that's the first KIA in 8 months for us, and hopefully
it will have been the last. Just wanted to let you know that BowTech has
been more than supportive of our efforts out here. I'm not sure if you
are aware, but we have been working on setting up a bow-range out here
for those of us who are avid bowhunters, but are having to miss yet
another season as duty calls. So, we've had several companies sponsor us
by sending different items out. Our latest, and perhaps most generous
donation, has come at the hands of BowTech. One of our soldiers (SPC
Flowers) has been in contact with BowTech, and you guys have sent us 8
of your 2003 bows for our range!! I cannot begin to tell you the
enormous amount of appreciation, respect, and pride we feel for your
company. We are excited about trying out our new bows, excited about our
opportunity to help those who are interested in starting out, and
excited about our opportunity to keep our skills "honed" while in Iraq.
Our plan is to help advertise for BowTech so that the generosity you
have shown us will come back to you ten-fold. Everyone here is going to
learn that BowTech is the way to go! I can tell that nobody there is in
it for the self-glorification or the feedback, you just want to help us
out and show your appreciation. . . but believe me, the feedback is
going to come. I hope all the employees of BowTech are prepared to be
bombarded with letters of support, pictures, and certificates of
appreciation from the soldiers of the 1st Batallion, 8th Infantry
Regiment. (Not to mention all the customers we are going to send your
way when we get back to the
USA!)
So, Jennifer...I guess I just wanted to write you and let you know how
much everything you have done (either yourself or just by being part of
BowTech) means to the soldiers here in Iraq. The moral of the fighting
eagles is much much higher now, and it's all because of such a special
company.
Please let your fellow BowTech'ers know how much we appreciate all they
do. Keep up the great work!
God bless,

RE: **Bows in support of the Troops in Iraq!**
Hey everyone and thanks so much for your support, thoughts, and prayers.
I just wnated to let you know that I am a soldier in 1-8 Infantry, the battalion that started the bow range. There are so many hunters in our battalion, and the range has been wonderful!! I couldn't say thanks enough to the companies who sponsored us, nor could I be more disappointed in those who didn't. It wasn't that we couldn't get "free equipment" from them, but rather their lack of response PERIOD. Possibly we talked to the wrong people.
Regardless, those who did help us out are more than appreciated! We are working on putting together packets to send to those companies containing certificates of appreciation from our battalion commander and XO, battalion coins, and pictures of the range.
The webpage, http://geocities.com/jaseboyhyde/archery.html is mine, but due to some problems lately with the server it's been up and down. I apologize and am working on getting that fixed.
Jennifer, who posted one of my emails on this thread, has been more than helpful to me. I bought some shirts and caps online from them before we asked for their support for the range, and she was so kind and personal that I suggested we call bowtech and ask for their support. That was the best decision we ever made regarding the range.
I would like to also mention Hoyt, McKenzie, Toxonics, Trophy Ridge, Beaman/Easton, Scott, Parker, Alpine, and several other companies that may have slipped my mind. I will have links and an appreciation paragraph on the site soon. We intend to thoroughly thank all these companies.
In addition, there are so many soldiers who were shooting for the first time, and now are wanting to buy archery equipment when we get back, that I have a feeling it's going to all come back to the companies that helped us. I just can't say enough good things about their support.
I can't wait to get back to the United States and resume my regular hunting/archery activities, but until we get back, we're enjoying our range in Iraq.
Thanks again for all the support. We appreciate it more than you all know!!
Take care and God bless,
Jason Hyde

This thread kinda gets me all misty eyed. This is what makes America so great. Keep up the good work soldiers. We appreciate the sacrifices being made by you all.
