My questions to you:
Is your son an accomplished archer or a newbie?
Maybe a compound is too much to start. Maybe a recurve is in order.
Is this a bow he is looking at or a bow you have been looking at? At age 12 (like you don't know) testosterone starts to flow more freely. Too much bow too soon can lead to disapointment.
