how big do u think i should make the permanent stand?
I wouldn't build a permanent stand, you can get some real inexpensive hang ons, they'll be heavier but it don't matter if you leave them there. I would be very stealth in terms of what i did in there. You don't want to educate the animals.

well i went out for a good look. i found about 7 rubs that were on trees bigger around than my thighs. i got sum pics if ne1 wants 2 c them. i kicked up 2 deer thursday which was the first day i went. i went 2day and kicked up another one. i was surprised not 2 find ne sheds. it is looking very promising. it actually looks so good that i do not no which spot 2 put a stand. would u put a stand directly on a creek or on a path a little ways away that leads to the creek? i think there is a buck trail that goes all the way through the property almost parallel to the creek and mite put a stand on that. its gunna b a long summer

Shootem up. Your in a good state. I have hunted from stands before and will hunt from stands again but I prefer my loggy climber. I find it to be more comfortable because I'm use to it. It's portable so I can move it depending on the conditions that day. If you make a bad choice you can move in 10 - 15 mins without doing much harm to your morning hunt. Also, early season you don't need to be as high do to leaves on the tree. After they come off, you need to get up a lot higher. Deer know that the huge knot shouldn't be on the tree. The last point is how far into the woods can you go. I prefer to hunt edges in the evenings because if you go into the woods you risk jumping the deer. If you go deep in the mornings and jump em when you come out give, yourself a few days before you go back.

Good luck
