Straightest Bowhunting Arrow?
#12
ACCs are hard to beat, but I won't shoot them........too dang expensive for hunting. If you want aluminum, XX78 is the best IMO.
Carbons.......I shoot Easton Carbon Evolution, but am looking hard at Terminator Selects(heavier weight) and the new Easton Axis. Although the Axis's advertised straightness is not as straight as some others, members here who shoot them love them so far.
Besides, one important aspect..........I want an arrow shaft that will retain its straightness longer, not just for the initial haul. I'd like to see a report done on that......which shafting will keep its straightness longer, under normal shooting and care circumstances! I'd guess the thicker walled shafts would.

Coug... I've been 'testing' the Terminator Selects that JeffB sent me for a good six months now, putting them through the wringer. They still shoot broadheads just as well as the day I got them. You know how picky I am about arrows, and I've got no complaints about these Selects.
That is, other than the fact they're made in Korea.

Thanks Arthur, you are making my decision on buying new shafts harder. [&:] I have decided its between the Terminator Selects and the Easton Axis. I am sort of waiting it out though.....I have the feeling Easton will bring its Axis out in camo. with perhaps a tad more weight because of the coating. Heck, I may just try both!!

Beman ICS Camo Hunter or the Matrix are the bomb, shoot perfectly with the Outback im waiting for. The Matrix shaft has an aluminum core and is specially bonded with the carbon outer. The aluminum core makes for a flush fit for points and nocks. Beman has lots of selection, not too bad on prices either, you get quality for your money. So that is what I have to say.

Spine consistancy is the most important variable in a quality arrow.
Straightness does help with getting broadheads to tune but spine is much more important.
I also agree that an ACC is hard to beat but my gut feeling is that once the Easton Axis arrows get more well known, they will start to take over the hunting market.

I shoot Gold Tips as well. Havent had a problem with them at all but Ive only shot them around 70 or 80 times but still are like new. They are very strong as far as carbon arrows go. I dont think there is a better arrow out there.
