Ouch! Hey, guys, I didn't mean to start a fight here. I don't use a WB but have thought about going to one. I also like the thought of feathers and helicals. I was just wondering if they would work with the WB. I may or may not go to either one but it would be handy to have some feedback on if they would or would not work. It seems like the WB would tear off helicals. Anyway. To each his own. Right?

Oh GAWD!! I'm getting so-ooo-oo-o sick of that 'to each his own' thing. It's turned into the cliche from hell![X(][X(]

I prefer the line: It's your money. Waste it whatever way you want to.

You can use offset or helical through a WB. It will slow your arrows down more and you will have increased fletching wear vs straight fletch, but the arrows will shoot straight. It's your money...

Sorry AP. Next time I post I'll be sure to consult you on what I should say and how I should think. Thanks for the input.

Atlasman: For decades the best archers in the world have and continue to try and eliminate fletching contact, arrow interference etc etc etc. Why look today, the market is floaded with drop aways from all manufacturers that are a result of that quest for perfect arrow flight. EVERYONE knows that the truest arrow has no contact on anything.
Agreed......I just don't see those flimsy bristles as having much effect on an arrow doing 300 fps. If your vanes are catching the outside circle of the ring then I can see where that would throw arrow flight way off.

So what does whisker bisquit do, grabs evey feather just as the arrow is leaving the bow. It slows it down, induces outside forces on the arrow etc etc etc.
I think you are giving those bristles a little too much credit.........they hardly posess the strength to "grab" anything going that fast. As far as speed goes I believe it is what......1%......2 fps?? Not really something to be concerned with.

This results not only in interference but also more noise, lost speed etc etc etc.
I was having a lot of trouble with noise from my Patriot.......the final fix was losing the NAP Drop Away and adding the WB. In my experience it is extremely quiet........and silent on the draw.

NOPE, I'm with Arthur. The day you see the BEST of the BEST and the folks lined up on a pro range shooting a whisker bisquit I may rethink it.
I am not trying to win any Vegas shows or shoot 300's in a tournament. I am out to kill a deer. You don't need to be an Olympic archer to hit the kill zone. Besides I don't think anyone was touting the WB as a great tournament rest.......people say it's a great HUNTING rest........and I have seen some of the BEST of the BEST hunters with them on their bows.

What's so great about the WB? The arrow can't fall off the rest. Not enough positive for me to put up with the negatives.
My WB is quiet, tough, simple to adjust, even easier to tune, and I can hit anything I aim at out to 35 yards with 3 different broadhead brands and designs. Oh yea......my arrow won't fall off the rest and it is simple and fast to reload another arrow.

When is the last time you saw a 3-D pro shoot a WB???

What exactly does that have to do with hunting?? I have seen guys shoot 40+" A-T-A bows on a 3D course but I'm not about to drag one up my treestand.

Now saying you prefer something different is one thing.........but to say that the WB is a waste of money is just silly. There is no way so many people would use a product if it was as bad as you say it is.
