Post season scouting

When going out scouting or shed hunting during the off season do you still make it a point to try and be scent free? I was just wondering what everyone else does. I try to, but I'm not as big as a freak about it as I am when I'm hunting.

No I don't try to be scent free when post season scouting. It is a time to bush wack and find out where the best place to hang stands for the following season and to find where the big ones live.

I don't make any effort to stay scent free post season. I do wander thru the woods but my real scouting dosn't start until spring. This time of year in the northeast the deer are all yarded up and not moving much. It's nice to see what survived the season but I don't want to pressure or stress the deer any more than they already are. Come spring they will start to move into their summer patterns. I like this time of year to scout as the runs get pretty mucked up so seeing where the deer are traveling is easier and it is also a good time to trim out some travel corridors from the bedding aeras past my stand to their food sources.
I also make no effort to stay scent free when spring scouting. I let the deer get used to human scent and come hunting season I go into stealth mode and become a scent freak.

lol you'd fit in very well amongst us southern rednecks. (Minus the accent of course)I dont use scent control when im scouting during post season unless im setting up the trail cam.

I play the wind just like during the season. Practice makes perfect.
