I like to see no one has looked towards Oklahoma. That's good for us, you guys can keep all your publicity up in the midwest and northern part of the states. I just don't look forward to the time when evryone realizes what a sleeper state Oklahoma is and starts to take over the land with hunters from across the nation. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be long. There has been a lot of trophy animals killed here in the last 2 or 3 years.

I have bowhunted many states over the years. Born & raised in Ill. 1 hour from Ws. & Iowa borders. Now live in Iowa right on the Ill/Ia border still one hour from Ws..
ANY of these states can show you a Bruiser at any time-Public Land included. I have also Bowhunted Arkansas., Maryland, N.C., Miss., La., Mn., Colorado, New Mexico & Canada.
I have seen & shot at WALL HANGERS (Whitetails)in Ill., Iowa & Ws.. I have SEEN Wallhangers in the plains of eastern Colorado & also Mn..
I have not seen any trophy class Whitetails in the other states I bowhunted. I was in Oklahoma this past week Bowhunting hogs & the Gun Season was open-I saw some very impressive Racks at the locker. We all hear the hype on Kansas, so know they have good bucks also.
How is it to LIVE in big Buck country-WELL, I have taken a big fat Doe on a Bonus antlerless tag & yet to have a shot at one of those BIG BUCKS-I have passed on several forkys, 6s & a couple 8s with nothing that would score over 100 or so if you are into the scoring stuff. I have also spent LOTS of time in the woods. Gun sreason now, so hope for a chance in the LATE season. Good Luck to all.
Oh, the largest Buck I have ever SEEN was in Illinois & my 2nd was in Northern Ws..
My largest Buck was taken in Ill.

Indiana is a tough one to hunt, but since they increased the tag prices and have limited it to only 1 buck per season, it should get better in years to come...at least that's what I keep telling myself.

There are no trophy deer in Maryland. We have all little deer. I just found out this week that where I shot my pie bald 5 years ago someone shot a 180 class 12 pointer. I just don't understand these folks. Why don't they let the little ones live so they can get big.
