I made be "treading on thin ice"?!? I don't know. I've never received any kind of rebuff on this site from moderators....or anything else. And I am also fairly new to this site.....and "brand new" (last week) to the bowhunting.forum. So I really do not know if I'm "stepping on toes".
I have noticed that the inquiry about the "Equipment Thread" was just openly locked!
I have also noticed that the "Equipment Thread" itself is not openly locked...but it comes up with an error message. I also know that you can still access the Equipment Thread by "expanding" the thread and pulling up a single comment at a time, (a pain in the butt...but still doable). I assumed that it was a program glitch (until I saw the subsequent inquiry locked). If the moderators wanted it locked...why wouldn't they just openly "lock it"? And if they didn't want it viewed....then why not just openly "delete" it"? It would seem to me that if they were choosing to censor the subject....that they would just delete it! It would certainly draw less attention that way. (Unless an "appearance of something else" is trying to be put on? And that is the comment that may get me openingly censored, because I do realize that I am on someone else's bandwidth. And if that is the case....please just be forthright about it....I do understand that "he who owns the ball....decides when the game is over".)
Well if it does....at least I will have an honest idea of what is occurring, or an honest answer to "what the deal is"? As it stands now I'm not sure if there has "simply been a glitch", or there is a "taboo" subject with someone....or if there may be individuals (or groups) that garner special privileges? Any way....I'd prefer to know openly than to having all the suspicions.
Have a good day.....and thanks, hopefully, for the answers!

To my knowledge the problem with the equipment thread is simply a glitch in the programming as I cannot open it either (though nice idea on the expanding suggestion. I had not tried that).
Second, the second thread was locked because questions of that nature, and threads such as this, are actually to be directed as emails to the individual moderators or to administration instead of posted on a public forum since they are not necessarily related to bowhunting but rather a function of the forum. You can contact us via clicking on our screen names and getting our email addresses. Or, you can click on the link in each thread that says "Report abuse". Or, you can click on the link at the top right of the page that states "Contact Admin.".
Hope this helps (...and I will leave this thread open briefly so that I know you read it and can reply).

Frank,
Thank you for your reply. I actually am new enough to not know if there was a technical reason for the difficulty...or there was another reason. I am very glad to know it was technical!
I really enjoy using this site, and even though I like spirited debates at times, I would have thought it a terrible shame to have learned that other issues were involved. The little "spits" between members are "entertaining" frequently...but it's nice to know that the Mods' aren't taking sides officially, (other than in areas of common decency). If I have a question of this nature in the future....I'll direct it to a moderator or administration.
Thank you again! (It was bad enough learning that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny weren't real
!) I'm glad to know there is not something other than meets the eye here.
Sincerely,
Dave

Take it from experience..... YOU ARE treading on thin ice. Questions about why, who or how come are frowned upon. Also, any questions as to why your emails to admin and moderators have not been answered are also inappropriate. In fact, depending on who you email... just by sending it(the email) may put you on rubber ice. My thread was locked.... BECAUSE.
That's all you need to know. I wouldn't have posted such a question if the original thread had been locked. Since it wasn't, I was trying to find out why it wouldn't come up. Inappropriate question..... my bad. I should have emailed it and just maybe I might possibly, although unlikely, gotten an answer I understood sometime before it disappeared off the 30 day list. So, in other words.... join the crowd. We've all skated across the ropes at some time or other. Some of us have literally fallen through and drown, only to be brought back to life with cyberspace CPR. If you're hesitant to ask.... you probably shouldn't.[8D] Play nice and don't be so nosey.

I cannot open it either, but regardless, this thread has knocked a thread from page one. This is the Bowhunting Forum.....not the "ask moderators questions" forum. Please refer questions by email.........someone will answer if they have any idea what is going on. By the way....I am locking this thread so it can sink.
