My suggestion is get some warm clothes that are comfortable and are not bulky and then buy an ASAT 3-D leafy suit to wear over it.

I won't try to convert you to a different pattern. I don't have clothing from either one of the companies you mentioned, but have seen numerous threads about each one on different hunting sites. I don't remember any complaints on neither product, besides the fact that individuals had to wait a while to get their product. So order early.

MM88, your missing the boat. All you need is the ASAT 3D Suit....you can wear it over anything and everything or nothing. Hell, you can wear over your bare skin in warm weather conditions or over Carhart or any other insulated wear in the cold weather. It's that simple.

I got a ASAT Ultimate Leafy System this year because it is so versatile. I early archery season, I can wear a long slever Realtree HD shirt and Realtree HD pants underneath. No extra bulk, no extra weight.

In rifle season, I wore my typical under-layers, my solid blaze orange coverall's, with the ASAT over that, and a thin vest on top of that. There was no extra bulk, but, I was PLENTY warm, and I was still very well camoflauged. How well? Well, I was just feet off the ground, climbing down to get one of my gloves that fell, and I had three doe walk in just yards behind me and not care about me. Why? Because, my outline was still about 90% broke up.

In late season archery, I will be wearing lots of layers, then, I will wear my MO Break-Up coveralls over top of that, with the ASAT on top.

In my eyes, this is the PERFECT camo, you can wear alot underneath, or nothing, and it is never too bulky.

Muzzyman, I just saw your post...you can't go wrong if
you decide to go with Grey Wolf Woolins. For the past
3 seasons I've worn the parka, bibs, vest, and bomber
hat in Predator Fall Grey. I had mine made up with
'wolfskin', insulated, and wind barrier - great stuff. I
decided not to go with wool because I wanted something
I could wash regularly, as I am very anal about my
scent control measures. I love the garments I have,
but if I were to place a order today I would probably
go with the wool....nothing warmer out there.

I also use the Double Decker Fanny Pack. It's come in handy
on many of my hunts.

When I placed my original order a few years ago, they were
known as Hidden Wolf Woolins. Since then there has been
some changes, however they still put out quality garments.
I've always talked to Jeff on the phone and can tell from
our conversations that customer service is important to
him.

The only downside...make sure you get your order in well
before you plan on using any of the garments/products. I've
had to prod things along each time I've ordered, but each
time it has been well worth the wait.

I have no experience with wool outergarments as I was always under the impression that they were not water repellant or wind proof. However, I am sure they are probably some of the warmest garments out there.

Myself? I hunt almost exclusively with a variety of Cabelas outfits right now. I like their Revolution Fleece both insulated and uninsulated for either late or early season respectively. It is warm, waterproof, windproof and carries Cabelas typical return policy. It is also relatively lightweight and very durable.

Price varies depending on your size and whether or not it is insulated.

I hate to sound like a broken record but, I too, can vouch for the effectiveness of ASAT. I hunt in south Texas and was wanting camo that was not as dark as many of the patterns are. I read about ASAT on this site and decided to try it. After hunting in it this past weekend I can say it works VERY well. On a couple of instances I had deer walk within 10 yards of me and had no idea I was there (including the nice 8-point I got). I just bought a long sleeve t-shirt so I could layer underneath with whatever the weather called for (not much chance of rain in south TX). I am now considering the 3-D leafy suit by ASAT. Give it a try. Get the suit and never be seen.

I agree that the pattern is not a "major" concern, albiet important though. I always liked Mossy Oak Break-up, but snow camo is the coolest come snow time. I honestly beleive "quiet" is more important for bow hunters. This past season I bought Cabela's berber fleece in the outfitters camo. Looks awesome...both on the ground and in a tree. And next to wool, there is nothing quieter! The bibs are wind stopper also and this outfit is the best I have ever bought...hands down. Warm, quiet and it loooooks good!
