I have shotgun hunted way longer then bow so it is a very special thing for me as well........plus my dad only gun hunts so there is no way I am gonna miss hunting with my dad.
This is my first year with a muzzleloader but I can't imagine it being much different then shotgun except the farther reach.
I have taken deer with my bow and gun and have to say while I was very proud to take one with a bow in my first year, I really don't value any deer more because of what I took it with.
It's all hunting to me and that's what I love..........the weapon in my hand doesn't make or break the experience for me.

I gun hunt, but I have passed on using my rifle (.270) and my shotgun. I now use a pistol. I hunt from the same stands I use in archery season so there is no reason to hunt with a weapon with the extended range and the pistol makes it more challanging, much like bowhunting.
