Better than me? NO, better than the rest of you? Probably so
Just kidding guys, there are some great hunters on this board and there are some that really don' t have a clue. I think guys like Chuck Adams, Dwight Sch(sp), Mark and Terry Drury, and people of that caliber are better than most. They have years of experience, can always make the shot, and don' t choke under pressure. Just because you are hunting on the best ground on earth doesn' t mean killing B&C bucks with a bow is easy. You still need a very intimate knowledge of your hunting area.

the guys that bow-hunt on the shows you see are the ones i really respect, anyone that hunts whitetails fair-chase, knows how hard it can be to consistently get within 25 yards of a mature buck.......to the drury brothers, micheal waddell, dave blanton and ted nugent, i tip my hat

HELL NO!
Pro-Hunter???? Seriously, does anyone here really think someone who makes their living shooting video of themselves killing animals is a " Pro Hunter" ? That makes you an actor. They don' t get paid to hunt, they get paid by the sales of their videos, or by sponsors who place ads on their shows. Some of them may possess good hunting skills but they are not Pro Hunters. I have met a few of these people who some call " Pros" and I am not exaggerating when I say that you could take 80% of ALL hunters out there and plug them in to that spot and they' d score on the same deer. Until you have seen how many HUGE deer they have on some of their properties with your own eyes you will need to really stretch the imagination to get even close. I hunted in New Hampshire from sun up to sun down Sunday and I saw 2 racked bucks and 2 does in a deer rich area, 1 month ago in Iowa I saw that many deer every 20 minutes. It' s not the same, not even kind of. The guy who scouts all year, bangs on doors asking for permission, glasses fields all summer, sets tree stands months before the season and clears his lanes trying to guess where the new growth is going to be coming from, that guy is a true " Pro Hunter" .. not some guy who shells out $5k to sit in a tree stand someone else put up, on a field somebody else glassed on a " farm" that requires special invitation to. Call them what they really are.. " Entertainers" , no different and no better than the cast of Friends or Survivor. Hunting just happens to be the plot line to their stories, the rest of it is just another choreographed tv show or video to add to the collection alongside your kids Disney collection and your wifes chic flicks!

First of all I do not feel that the majority of the " Pro-Hunters are better hunters than many of us here, some of them are, but the majority of them are the following:
1. Excellent markmen with their weapon.
2. Well spoken.
3. Have a sellable personality.
4. Good hunters.
Most of the people we know as " Pro-hunters" are salesman first and hunters second. Some of the best hunters in the world I bet 99.9% of us have never heard of and never will. Look I am not knocking these guys in the least, they happened to be in the right place at the right time and meet all 4 of the requirements.
Ask yourself honestly, do you feel that a company is going to pay someone who is great hunter but you can not understand a word he says? Do you think they are going to hire someone with an obnoxious personality to promote thier products. These " Pro-hunters" are hired guns to sell products and services.
There are a few rare exceptions, Fred Bear is one!
