Default Calling after the rut

I don' t know fi the rut is completly over but I know the peck of it was during muzzleloader which ended about a week ago. Would bucks still respond to rattling or doe pee? I my self dont' think they would, so I have been using a doe bleat and was thinking about getting some buck pee and pour on a rub on a tree that I found. But if I am correct that they are not interested in fighting right now then that would be a waste of money. So am I right or wrong?

After the rut the bucks tend to go into a rest/eat phase to gain back some strength. They can and will breed from the time the velvet is gone until they drop their headgear. A lot of guys rattle post rut but I tend to stick to the doe stuff. Decoy is put away too. Tough question with lots of variables..temp, barometer, hunting pressure, population size, doe/buck ratio, etc.

To me the best thing about late bow is that you have the woods to yourself
