After the fire came through southern California takeing out every single one of my neighbors but me. they shut down the forest to everyone, now finally it is back open going hunting in the morning. I am only 16 and i saved my parents house and i also saved my grandparents from the fire. the reason i said that i did it is because my parents were in montana hunting and my grandparents were on vacation in arizona. so i packed everything out of both houses by my self, and i also waterd down everything and stayed until the fire was right there. the one thing is that you feel very guilty that everyone around you burnt but you didn' t. i have over 15 friends who lost their homes to this disaster.

What I had seen on tv the fires looked pretty nasty. How close did the fires make it to your parents and grandparents house? Must have been very intense to be out there. Glad you made it. What kind of affect did the fires have on the wildlife out there and what are your chances for taking a deer going be? Good luck I just hope the fires didn' t ruin your hunt for this year.
