I agree, there' s no shot in that situation. I' ve seen it done on TV, but never liked the idea of it. Very little room for error on a shot like that. I still think it' s double lungs-broadside or quartering away shot in all bowhunting situations.

I was just curious, because I had a doe walk towards me today. she made her way down the trail. She never gave me a broad- side shot. She was only about 10 to 15 yards away from me. I was wondering if any one has been successful with this shot. By the way I did not take the shot, I hunt with good morals and good judgement, But it is aweful tempting!

Sometimes that just happens. It was the deers lucky day! The only thing I can suggest is if this happens very often, you have your stand set-up in the wrong place in relationship to the trail. I think many people put their stands to close to their main trails. All this does is give you a alot of comming, going and straight down shots, all bad ones.
Good Luck!

I had the exact same thing happen to me with a nice 8 point last year, man I was tempted, but I just couldn' t bring myself to try it. I have heard some folks swear that it is a good shot as long as there head is up and you put it right in the soft spot at the base of the neck/top of the rib cage. I wouldn' t try it though!

Absolutely NOT! NEVER take a straight on shot. You' ll get one lung at best or the heart if you' re especially lucky. I was at full draw last Friday on a monster for over 2 minutes because he was facing me. My pin was centered on his chest, but I had no intention of shooting until he turned broadside. I' ve passed other big ones in the past for the same reason.
