First deer this year

First deer this year
Got my first deer of the year this morning.It is a 7 pointer.Shot him at 18 yards.He was quartering away and stepped out as I let the release go.He didn' t jump just walked about 85yds and laid down.Before he laid down I saw 1/2 of the shaft sticking out.alittle far back than I wanted.But I could see him.PATIENCE,PATIENCE,PATIENCE.After 1hr of watching and waiting,I got down out of the stand,went down wind and back tracked and put another shaft into him.To find out the first one got the liver and 1 lung,the 2 one I put it straight on through the throat and into the spine.This is the first one with my new Mathews LX with a muzzy 100 and carbon express 250.What a rush,Gun hunting is exciting but bow hunting is were it is at

Congrats goldenarm! Sounds like you have patience to me - waiting on stand FOR AN HOUR after you shot your first deer? You' re heading in the right direction.
Wish I was that mature when I shot my first one - my first deer was a respectable 8-pt I gut shot then went after him 5 mintues later......duuhhhhhhh. I got em though.
Good job. Let' s see some pics.
