If the animal cannot escape, it's fenced. For example, on some South African ranches, there's 25000 acres fenced. In my mind, and P&Y's, the plains game hunted there is not in fair chase. However, the leopard, who can climb the fence, and often does, can be hunted fairly, in my opinion. I'm not sure how P&Y views these animals.

If hunting over bait is legal were it was filmed, then that's that....
It isn't my cup-o-tea either, but it isn't illegal or unethical!
There is a huge difference between taking an animal over bait and taking a captive animal.
Please don't take that the wrong way, I don't agree with baiting or canned hunts. But, lot's of people do. We all can't sit back and say "That's against MY personal values. HE shouldn't do it either!"

Lil.I didn't ask people's opinion because I was thinking about going there.I wanted to know what everyone thought before I mentioned that Ted hunted there. Some times people opinion change when the find out their idol(for lack of a better word) is involved in the activity.
Stinky, we are not talking about a barbed wire fence.Usually theses fences go about ten feet high.
I have absolutely no problem with a person going to one of these places and shooting some animals. If that is what floats your boat go for it.
The way that Ted came across really turned me off.He said that he gets into a state of that is not attainable by any other human being(not an exact quote).
It's not the fact that he hunted a game ranch that got me going. It was the way he tried to push that it was so wild and how you should be able to feeel the spirit through him.

I'm not impressed with these so-called hunters shooting animals that are fenced in and can't escape. Its all about money, almost all of these hunting shows are hunting fenced in animals on ranches.I seen where alot of the cattle farmers in Texas are selling their cattle and fencing in their property to raise deer to be hunted by these so called sportsman. The article said they are more money in deer then cattle.I don't agree with this type of hunting.Everyone likes to see a good hunting show, but when you look at the credits at the end of these shows and see that they were hunting on a ranch,I loose all interest.Everyone likes watching Bill Jorden, almost all of his shows are on ranches, and I don't watch them anymore!

I know you can't come up with a number to be fair... hence NO fence.(I couldn't resist that) Anyway, to me if someone runs one continuous fence around a piece of ground that's 25,000 acres.... it's not a fenced property... it's a separate country with closed borders.

I saw the show where he shot a deer and a pig from the same stand. If I remember correctly there was nothing else (vegetation and what not) on the ground except corn that they had spread out. When he went into his schpeel about the spirit etc after that canned hunt I was forced to change the channel in disgust. They had another episode that gave me the creeps because his kid was shooting in a manner that I would deem unsafe. Maybe I'm overly sensitive about safety (especially young hunters) and the value of many days spent in the woods to harvest your "trophy" with a bow. IMO people like T.N. give the tree huggers more ammunition to hurt the rest of us.

Lets see. I think that Ted is a liar. He talks about the "spirits" and such. Come on, how much spirit is involved when you are sitting over a 1000 pound pile of corn in a fenced area? Cardeer showed me about the spirit of the hunt when I posted a question about the "ghost buck." He brought a lot of good information to me. Ted talks about being such a great spokesmen for hunters, but I personally don't see it that way. I think that he is a bad influence towards hunting. Just my own opinion. I would think a lot more of him if he NEVER hunted in fenced areas. Just my thoughts though.
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)
