I was climbing with my summit saturday morning about 4:30 am. About ten feet up, I feel this warm, furry critter suddenly land on my hand and it obviously has sharp claws. It' s warm so I don' t have gloves on. With my heart pounding, I quickly switched my light on and there is this flying squirrel setting square on the back of my left hand and he' s looking at me like I' m scarring him. I know that you shouldn' t be scared of flying squirrels but when something furry with claws lands on you in the dark, it kind of takes you back and makes your heart skip a beat. I have no idea where he came from or why he was hanging around in the dark. I shook him off and continue my climb, shaking my head in amazement.
While hunting in stands, I have been attacked by an owl, red tail hawk, and now a flying squirrel.
If you want to try this some time when a hawk or owl lands near you and you got a full head cover or mask on, just stick your tongue out the mouth hole of your mask and watch that hawk come after it.

Yeah, they could show that video on the next " When Animals Attack" right after the one of that guy who doused himself with doe-in-heat urine and met up with the whitetail buck... LOL

When I stuck my tongue out at the hawk, and I don' t know what made me do it, that hawk come off the limb he was on like the dinner bell had rang. I had to wave my bow like crazy to get him to stop his attack. I felt the wind from his wings, that' s how close he got.

I was hunting with a buddy a couple years back and it was still dark outside when I heard this blood curdling scream coming from the direction my buddy was. So I kinda freak out a little bit thinking something morbid just took place and I wander over to where his stand is, on edge the whole time. Well I get to where he is sitting and he looks down at me and has blood dripping off his face and scratches running down both sides. I said " what the @#$% happened to you" he looks down, shakes his head and shows me the dead squirrel in his hands. The squirrel had jumped off a nearby branch and landed on his face, he freaked screamed like a girl, and killed the squirrel with his bare hands. He had him mounted, posing like a bear.
