jimmyz, don' t know for sure but would bet a whole lot of money that it happened to me last year. I put an arrow in a buck at 15 yds, put the shot right in the zone, got a little excited and took off after it too soon, trailed the buck quite a way with a real good blood trail, the last sign of it was a real large pool of blood and then nothing. We looked for 8 hours that day, 4 the next, and 2 or 3 the next. There were 4 of us looking the last 2 days to no avail. During our searches we realized we had gone off the property we could hunt on and gone on someone else. We talked to the landowner who owned the property when we realized this and got permission to hunt for my deer, he informed us that several people could have been on his property hunting and that he would ask them if they saw anything. Needless to say no one had saw my deer. The most terrible thing about this is that it was my first deer ever, and it was one of the largest bucks I have ever saw. So yes I agree, IT STINKS!!!!!!
