Got in my stand after daylight this morning(luv that snooze button) and knew I didn' t have long to hunt so I grunted, used my Primos can call, and sprayed some scent in the air to try and stir up some quick action. I normally am a lot more passive than that, Try to find a good spot get set up and let them come to me. So my question is: would you consider yourself an aggressive or passive hunter?

i call myself a passive/aggressive hunter. i like to sit and wait most of the time. but as the season wears on, i think that a hunter has to get a little more aggressive in order to get there deer. i like to stalk during the rut, and use rattling horns. but that is just me.

I am by nature not the most patient person in the world. This time of the year I really like to get up there and make some noise and mix it up a bit. I usually have good success. Rattling and grunting does not always bring bucks right to your front door step. Its not always like on those TV shows where these moster bucks just come charging in. Anytime I rattle or grunt I try to remain as perfectly still as possible and scan the thick stuff. I have seen alot bucks that come to check out the noise but never come out of the brush for a shot , they just come to investigate and when they dont see anything they leave. I like taking the agressive aproach though because when it does work and everything falls in place and you do actually take a buck that you rattled or grunted in, you feel a certain sense of accomplishment.

I' m getting more agressive the older I get. Guess I' m just tired of waiting. I don' t go overboard aggressive, but I' ll call every so often and try and get something to come in.

On morning hunts as we get near the rut, last week of October, I' ll rattle and grunt at first shooting light to see if I can get anything to come in early. I figure if I screw it up I still have a few hours to go back to the passive mode and wait. Then as I get to about a half hour before I need to leave the woods, because of other commitments or nightfall, I go aggressive again, figuring ' What do I have to lose?'

Probably passive. Though I have all of the " tricks" in my pack I rarely use anything other than some doe pee or doe in estrus urine. I have tried grunt calls, cans and rattling devices all without much luck....which is probably the result of the area I hunt in...

I' m definitely passive. For 35 years, I' ve rattled, snorted, bleated, grunted, and I' ve sprayed ever kind of attractant you can spray and I' ve called up one buck rattling and one three-legged doe with a grunt. Yep, I' m passive.

I' m definately passive. I rely on good stand placement and pre season scouting to get me by. I do have a grunt, rAttle bag and scents but don' t use them much. I guess thats because I' m not very experienced with them.
