I have heard of people walking through the smoke of their campfires so that their clothes would smell like smoke. Wood smoke is a smell that deer are used to smelling, and it covers up human odor very well. I never could get up the nerve to try this, but today I finally tried it. Well, to put it plainly, it worked very well. I saw 8 deer in a half hour' s time, all within 20 yards.
Have any of you ever tried this? Have you had success, or did I just get lucky?

I have read about a few hunters after being in the big woods for a few days will do that because there camo stinks too bad,but they have been there a few days a ran out of clean camos. I think thats the only way I would try that.I don' t want the game to smell a thing. Me or smoke.

I' ve always heard that the Native Americans hung their clothing by their fires to get that smoke smell on them. If you think about it, every deer in the country has probably smelled smoke at one time or another, and wouldn' t associate it with humans.
