I know from reading recent posts that many of you are upset that ASATs stock is on backorder, especially this time of the year. It seems these days most expect all companies to be million dollar operations, with unending goods to sell to interested customers. Unfortunately, in today' s hurry up society, that' s far from the truth.
It' s tough to be a small business and have unexpected success. You are constantly riding the line, keeping enough stock in to meet expected and usual demand without tying up all your liquidity in inventory that may produce a cash flow crisis if it doesn' t move timely.
I think what you are experiencing is the power of the internet. I suspect that the good words their camo has gotten here and other places (and deservedly so) has led to a rush of orders, with guys trying to get their hands on some right before hunting season. Due to this, ASAT was caught with their pants down, as Aussie alluded to in another post.
I think ASAT has the potential to be a much larger company than I imagine they currently are, but it doesn' t happen overnight. Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to a smaller company is to have a sudden burst of demand for their product. Chuck has proven to me to be a great person, sincerely interested in customer service. How many other camo companies can you name that will take their stuff back for a refund if you aren' t happy, no questions asked? Not many...
A good example would be imagine a service club having a food stand at a local festival. There are usually 5,000 people who attend, so they stock up to meet this expected demand. However, for some reason people on an internet forum talked the festival up, and out of the blue 20,000 people show up. The stand sells out of food quickly, and those left unfed are pissed. The club is estatic with the demand for their goods, and had great success in selling out their stock. Unfortunately, they can' t get enough replacement stock in in time to meet the demand, and are sad that they' ve dissapointed customers.
If they had stocked up IN CASE 20,000 people showed, they would have lost their butts when they didn' t. I think the current ASAT availablility is similar.
I am in no way shape or form connected with ASAT, other than being a very satisfied customer. I like being invisible
For what it' s worth.

Well said, Rangeball. I wish them all the luck to grow at a measured pace that ensures success and am going to temper my hopes of receiving it by this weekend, although I will be secretly hoping for the best...

I think it' s understandable that they would be busy during this time of year. However I do wish they' d have some sort of notification on their website indicating in-stock, out of stock, back order, etc. With all the positive feedback I' m sure it' s worth the wait. I' m sure they could just stitch the suits together and ship them but I imagine the are trying to maintain their quality control.

This incarnation of their website has only been up a few short months, to my knowledge. I' m sure there are bugs to be worked out, and given time it will be more customer friendly.
I have a good sense they are hunters with a great product moresoe than businessmen interested in fashion...

Hey Range - I' d have to agree.
Plus ASAT is a " Hunters Company" . It is owned by real hunters like many of us here on this board.
I get the feeling that they are trying real hard to not go too " Corporate" like so many of the " Fashion Cammo" companys out there.
I sure love their stuff though.
I asked Chuck about kids sized cammo for my oldest daughter - he' s like " I can barely keep up with the adult stuff - now you want kids too?" . lol
Fantastic cammo though. When I first bought mine - my hunting buddies laughed. They laugh no more. Frequently we hunt within binoc sight of each other and it' s amusing to see the deer meander away from their usual trail to avoid the " blob" in the tree. Last season I had at least 5x more opportunities than my buds to take deer. I attribute much of it to the ASAT and my paranoia on scent control.

I sincerely hope that you did not interpret my post to mean that I was upset with ASAT the company. Disappointed in the lack of availability, yes, but not upset or even really surprised considering the situation.

Frank or anyone, I really had no particular individual or their comments in mind when I posted this. Just felt like it needed said...
Knowing how good this stuff is, I' d be dissapointed too. Good thing I got mine last year, before the rush

RB.
Thanks for doing this post and yes they where caught with their pants down they never expected to get the orders that they have got this year specially in the last month.
Guys I am working on trying to get some answers for you as to delivery dates.
Chuck and the other guys at ASAT have day jobs as well so it is hard to get hold of them during the day.
Please be patient as soon as I get some answers I will post.
