I know from reading recent posts that many of you are upset that ASATs stock is on backorder, especially this time of the year. It seems these days most expect all companies to be million dollar operations, with unending goods to sell to interested customers. Unfortunately, in today' s hurry up society, that' s far from the truth.
It' s tough to be a small business and have unexpected success. You are constantly riding the line, keeping enough stock in to meet expected and usual demand without tying up all your liquidity in inventory that may produce a cash flow crisis if it doesn' t move timely.
I think what you are experiencing is the power of the internet. I suspect that the good words their camo has gotten here and other places (and deservedly so) has led to a rush of orders, with guys trying to get their hands on some right before hunting season. Due to this, ASAT was caught with their pants down, as Aussie alluded to in another post.
I think ASAT has the potential to be a much larger company than I imagine they currently are, but it doesn' t happen overnight. Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to a smaller company is to have a sudden burst of demand for their product. Chuck has proven to me to be a great person, sincerely interested in customer service. How many other camo companies can you name that will take their stuff back for a refund if you aren' t happy, no questions asked? Not many...
A good example would be imagine a service club having a food stand at a local festival. There are usually 5,000 people who attend, so they stock up to meet this expected demand. However, for some reason people on an internet forum talked the festival up, and out of the blue 20,000 people show up. The stand sells out of food quickly, and those left unfed are pissed. The club is estatic with the demand for their goods, and had great success in selling out their stock. Unfortunately, they can' t get enough replacement stock in in time to meet the demand, and are sad that they' ve dissapointed customers.
If they had stocked up IN CASE 20,000 people showed, they would have lost their butts when they didn' t. I think the current ASAT availablility is similar.
I am in no way shape or form connected with ASAT, other than being a very satisfied customer. I like being invisible

For what it' s worth.
