The nice thing about the CAN is that you can' t use it wrong!! I would start out slow (2-3 turns every hour or so) and then build from there and as you get closer to the rut. It really will depend on the mood of the deer and the buck to doe ratio where you' ll be hunting.

First make sure there are no deer within 20 yards of you. They will almost always pic you out if you start calling when they are close.

Second there is no for sure way to do it. I' m sure every deer out there will vocalize different ways. So, experiment with different techniques when you are out there and keep notes of what works and what doesn' t.

Most times I will do a series of calls about every 20 minuetes. I have a short attention span and have a hard time waiting that long. I usually turn the can over 1 or 2 times every 5-20 seconds for about 2 to 3 minuetes.

Don' t be affaid to use the call. I' ve have grunted in deer that had snorted and I was sure have winded me just to have them walk right down the same trail that I used to get to my stand.

Good luck
