Ground Blind Recommendations

RE: Ground Blind Recommendations
Wish...the shoot thru netting has had no effect on any shots I've taken. I've shot 3-blade Thunderheads and Wasp SST's...even took a big Javilina at 48 yards shooting thru the netting...complete pass-thru with a Thunderhead 100 gr.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. Have been wanting to try a Rocket Steelhead, to see what will happen...can't see anyway a mechanical could work though...I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Ive just ordered a black backed Double Bull myself ,to be used for turkey's.Ive done some serious net serching for comments on this product. After reading literaly hundreds of post's about the blind's from different Web's,ive found no bad posts at all.Everyone seems to think there the best! Good Luck in deciding.

Wish 41/Two Beards - I know that Double Bull has tested many different mechanicals through the netting. I forget which ones didn't work, but most did. I suspect the ones with longer blade ends might be a problem. I know the Rocket Steelheads work very well. Kieth and Brooks at Double Bull are great guys, give them a call at 888-464-0409 (tollfree).

RE: Ground Blind Recommendations
While scouting I determine where I think the deer move and I find dead falls. I then build them up, even use some netting sometimes and lay more branches and leaves outside the netting. This way I can have blinds setup and ready (sometimes with 5 gallon buckets sitting in them) so I can hunt a blind here or there depending upon the winds and such. I have 40 acres with 4 blinds to hunt out of, and working on a 5th spot for next year.
I like this as they are inexpensive and allow me some flexibility.

I have taken two fall archery turkeys out of the double bull archery blind. They even make one for deer that is scent-lok lined which is pretty expensive but people swear by them. My son has had deer at less than 10 yds. walk by the tent during turkey season. I have used fixed 90 gr. Muzzy's for the turkeys and would like to know if a Spitfire will go through the screen. It's just a matter of time before I use it for deer. I did pistol hunt out of it two weeks ago but didn't see one. You can't go wrong with this tent. I am 6'4' and 230 # and can draw my bow fairly easily inside sitting on a folding chair.

Besides making natural blinds, I have the Double bull t-2, and love it. Easy and fast to set up and take down, light weight, and water resistent. The other nice feature is being able to shoot through the window netting. You are completely concealed.

I've got the shoot thru netting for my windows and one thing I'm going to do durring the "off" season is experiment shooting different heads thru this stuff.I would really like to get rid of the blackholes when I'm hunting.
