Like many others have said, it just depends on the situation. I have shot from the sitting position and would rather do it that way but sometimes it isn' t possible. I sit most of the time in stand. I' m less fidgety that way and I think the less movement the better. Sometimes you have to stand to make the shot and sometimes you have to watch them walk away

I stand to shoot always. Its worked so far for me that way, and I feel much more comfortable doing so.

I never even sit in my stand. I have a summit viper and when I climb up, I stand until I climb down. I got burned by a deer back in the eighties and never sat again. So I guess all my shats are and will be standing up.

I drilled a doe a few years ago in a ground blind sitting on a milk crate.

Your allowed to sit in the stand. After all this time I find out that thing is a seat and not a shelf for my back pack. I stand most of the time in my stand just so I don' t get caught sitting out of position.

If you use a sit down/stand up climber, and you decide to shoot from a sitting position, make sure your bow isn' t on the inside of that thing. You release... BANG... the limb hits the bar around you. Not a good thing. One of my buddies learned the hard way.

I stand if possible. It gives you more options. You can bend, crouch, lean, or do whatever you have to do to get your arrow to clear sticks, or to get the pin into the opening you need. But, a sitting shot is a good thing to practice in case you need to do it.

i only shoot standing up.
my viper is the best stand there is. i believe that you can only stand up to shoot in this stand. i had two does 20 yards away i shot missed they stood there, got another arrow i was standing doing all this moving and trying to get my arrow nocked never even saw me up in the tree. standing is a much better shooting position.

go deep hunt hard.

I prefer standing, but you just never know. Last year I had nice 10 point come from behind me, he stood under the tree then moved forward and was starting to veer off to the left (bad direction in this case) I mouth grunted, stopped him and took him from the sitting position. I felt it much more important to not spook the animal and remain seated and think through the shot. It is a slightly different feel (anchor point) when sitting, but a slight adjustment and it' s pretty much the same...to me at least. I will typically take a few practice shots sitting. I' m glad I did last year! :-)

I have always shot while standing. But I haved practiced shooting while sitting down, and feel confident I could shoot that way if I needed to. I sit in my stand most of the time, and if I see a deer approach I try to wait until it walks behind a tree before I stand up.
