I can't stand all of the same reduntant posts about gear. But that's just me...I'm far from a techy tinker with my stuff. I buy it, it works, I use it, that's it. I generally have no clue the brand name of the equipment I use. I am for keeping "gear" topics somewhere else. They are the same boring and dull posts all the time and they clutter up the board and bump the good topics off the first page where they finally get buried. I don't understand all the emphasis folks put on their equipment. I can understand an ocassional post about something revolutionary in the industry but when I see a post on frickin' mathews bows or bowtech or "mechanical vs. fixed" or kinetic energy or API treestands etc, it unnerves me. I can't believe these topics haven't been beaten to death. I want to talk about bow "hunting"...not "bows".

I really like the bowhunting forum the way it is now. The gear we use is the biggest part of being a bowhunter, so this is the best place to discuss it. Between this forum and the technical forum, I think we have it pretty well covered.

I could see the use for a general "hunting gear" forum, which would include anything about rifle accessories, bow accessories, knives, packs, camp stoves, hunting boots and so on. Not everything on thesee forums relates to bowhunting, and several other members that don't bowhunt could benefit from a forum like that.
I would vote to keep bowhunting related topics here, including gear, and have a hunting gear forum which would cover things such as I mentioned before.

I think someone hit the nail on the head up above: if we can't talk about bowhunting "stuff" on here, it's gonna get pretty slow and boring in the off-season. Let's enable people to keep discussing the merits of bowhunting-related stuff on here.
