BOWDACIOUS
I do not know what happened to the deer so I will not even try to guess?
My guess is that the elk was hit in what may of us elk hunters call never never land. If you hit them just under the spine you are not hitting anything vital. Basically you body pierced the elk & thats it. My guess is he has a 99% chance of survival. Heck you might even kill the same bull next year?

Are you saying that the now infamous dead spot applies to elk but not deer? I better check my elk anatomy chart and see if the lungs are located directly under the spine or if there is a gap.

And now for the rest of the story, Come on BOW, fill us in. like at least tell us that you and 3 buddys and the guide tried to track the elk until midnight, and then went back in the a.m. and tried some more! There' s got to be more to the story! And while you' re at it, finish the other two storys too!

Were you hunting with cardeer as well?

Bowdacious could be telling the story as it happened. I recall last year he shot like 10 deer which filled his freezer to the brim and then had a little baby buck within range and thought ' what the hay' and plugged him as well. Didn' t make much sense to me at the time but lends me to leave the door open on this post...it may be the real thing. []

If it' s true there' s no way he should be a Moderator. Actually, there' s no way he should be hunting.

If it' s not true, it' s a very poor attempt at being funny.

I can' t believe the number of wounding threads I' ve read this year. You guys give the Antis plenty of ammo to fight hunting. Almost making their job easy. [:' (][:' (][:' (][:' (]

BobCo...A setup yes...A joke no. It' s just the nature of his post. Very matter of fact but not many details. Strange story...What' s up Woundacious? We' ve been trying to get a response from you or one of your cohorts.

Well then, let me be the first to comment........I have no idea if this is a joke but even though " Bowdacious" IS a longtime friend, I have to agree with the concerned members and I don' t feel like I' m going out on a limb in doing so. It would NOT have been an awesome hunt for me, and I do think that some clarification needs to be addressed on the tracking/details portion because it seems like a pretty " Oh well" attitude over wounding 3 animals and blaming quality broadheads? What?
I' m going with the" Tough Love" approach here brother what' s the deal!?
If I just got sucked in then so be it, but help us out here.

That would make me sick and wonder if i should even be holding a bow. I didnt see any comments on being upset or feeling sick at your stomach about the suffering animals. While i certainly hope this is a joke its a hell of a thing to joke about, GREAT fuel for the anti' s and yes, they do frequent sites like this for such ammo.
