I am new to carbons and fletch my own feathers. I have heard that a lot of the camo patterns on carbons will come off when you refletch or when shot into targets.
Is there a finish out there that is as good as alum and will not come off?

I don't know how good it is but Game Tracker and Beman both have new carbon's with supposedly tougher camo finshes. Both are a little heavier too, I think that is even better.

I've been studying up on camo carbon arrows myself lately, seems like all the carbon arrow manufacturers have a new process of applying the camo. Actually i don't think they "apply" it anymore, i think the camo is actually part of the carbon now. It used to be applied like a paint or film before which would wear off. hope this helps. what brand of carbon arrow are you thinking of going with?

I just get the black carbon, never had a problem with them. I figure most people are putting red and white fletching on, so it negates any camo with movement...
But I too believe they have a new process, the camo stays on now, not an issue like before. But I have no experience with them. The black never came off.

I spoke to the Beman rep at the shop a few weeksn ago, he left me some of the new camo bemans. It is a major major improvement. The vanes stick better and I've shot them more than a 100 times and still no wear to the camo. I think its a great improvement, the little extra weight is gonna be nice to the hunter also

Thanks
I was leaning towards Game Trackers because a local shop has them but the Beman ICS camo hunters look nice.
I know camo arrows offer no advantage in the field, just like the way they look and if the finishes don't hold up black will be fine.
I will check out the new camo.
Are the new camo arrows still the same name
( Carbon Express Hunter / ICS Camo Hunter ), or do they have new names?
Thanks again
