Default Help me choose a broadhead.

I' ve narrowed it down to the G5 B-52, or the Rocket Ultimate Steel. My bow is well tuned, and currently has 48 ft/lbs of KE. I know the COC b52' s should have better penetration, however, they have a larger cutting diameter than the Ultimate Steels. Going strictly for West Virginia Whitetails, which would you choose? Thanks.

I couldn' t find the b-52' s only the montec.......but the RUS looks like a good head. I' m partial to Muzzy' s 3 Blades myself.......in the 100 grain size.

Also, not sure on the KE requirements, but how are the Rocket Steelheads? Do they require too much KE for my setup? Thanks.

In my opinion, I wouldn' t go with any mechanical with the type of KE you are dealing with on your bow. You may be asking for trouble. Stick with a good fixed blade design and you will be fine. With a well tuned bow like you have, it would be hard to make a bad broadhead choice if you stay with the top names in the business. My personal preference is a Muzzy 4 blade in 100 grains. Some will say that the 1" cutting diameter is a bit small, but I haven' t had any problems and they shoot like my field points.

The Rocket Ultimate Steel isn' t a mechanical, the Rocket Steelhead is.

I used your link and the B-52' s look good........it would be an easier choose if you were picking between two of the same type.

Your bow should be just fine to shoot the Rocket Ultimate Steels.........

My boo boo...When Josh posed a question about KE I didn' t pay close enough attention. Josh, why worry about the KE with an Ultimate Steel? Just wondering? I can' t imagine you would have a problem with that head if you can get them to fly good.

Hands down the B-52' s win for me. I have tested both and far and away the B-52 is the tougher head. Both fly and penetrate well, but the B-52' s are tougher, easy to sharpen and won' t loose any blades.
