I BOUGHT A SUMMIT VIPER THIS YEAR. I WILL HUNT THE EVENINGS IN THIS ONE SPOT , BUT I WILL HUNT IT IN THE MORNING TO. I JUST WON' T TO LEAVE IT ATTACHED TO A TREE.SO WHERE I WONT HAVE TO CARRY IT BACK. BUT I BELIEVE THAT IF I LEAVE MY STAND OVER NIGHT IT WILL LEAVE SCENT NEXT TO MY HUNTING SPOT.MOST OF THE TIME I WILL CARRY IT WITH ME IN AND OUT. BUT WHAT DO YALL THINK ABOUT LEAVING IT OVERNIGHT.
GO DEEP AND HUNT HARD.

THE BEST NEVER REST.

I absolutely will not leave my climbing stand in the woods for two reasons;
First, I believe anything with our human scent and especially on the ground might just cause that big buck to skirt around that specific area. If that big buck happens along during the night I don' t want him to sniff my stand or even see it there.
2nd, with my intentions of coming back to hunt the next morning, I may decide I would rather hunt another location, and I certainly do not want to leave such an investment for anyone to find.

I never leave my stand overnight because of the reasons you mentioned. I don' t want a deer/buck to " check" my stand out when I' m not there....not to mention if the wind is wrong and hunting another area. The Ol' man is so simple to remove and carry, it' s not an option for me to leave it overnight.
If you do decide to leave it.....put the stand up on the tree as high as you can reach, that should put it up out of the range of a deer.

well since I was just a victim of hunting equipment theft, I won' t leave anything in the woods again... at least in such an uncontrolled area. I have MY NEW TREE STAND (
) in the woods right now but it' s on a friend of mine' s property within eyeshot of his house.

No way!!!! Theres trespassers on the property I hunt and I`m pretty sure
that if they stumbled across my stand, they would take it with them.
Not gonna givem the chance.[8D]

I leave my climber out in the woods as long as I am coming back the next morning and no one has walked by and seen me there, with a chain and padlock on it of course. If I see someone else around in the same area, or if for some reason, they actually stop and talk to me, then I take it out in the evening.

I leave my stands in the woods all season. I left one on the tree all year and when I came to the hunt, I couldn' t climb the tree cause it had grown enough to wedge my stand in tight[:@]
I have never had a stand stolen......must be a yankee thing

I leave my Ol Man frequently
If you are careful about scent control I don' t see that as a big problem. As for the deer finding it...I hadn' t thought about that
When I do leave it I use a vinyl coated bicycle lock. I think it is quieter than chain. Haven' t had any problems with it spooking deer to my knowledge

I haven' t used a climber for a few year, probably because I don' t have one of the newer models out there. Mine is very heavy and takes a while to put in the tree. But to answer your question, yes, ablsolutely, I have left it in the woods overnight. But only as you have mentioned. Leaving the stand after dark and returing before light. I you are concerned about the human scent thing, I would suggest spraying it down with scent away or something like that before you leave. My seat is removable, and I used to take it with me. I believe that probably carried the most scent anyway.
