Wow BM
It seems like only yesterday that you were singing the praises of the MM. If I remember right you also used to say how much you loved your MT Sport.
Maybe you are just a grass is always greener kind of guy
I have to admit though that you planted a little seed in my head as well. I just sold some stuff on Ebay for $700 and I have been snooping around the Bowtech shelves lately because the money is burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted to find out what all the fuss was about also. I didn' t shoot any but actually asked a guy if he had any MM' s because I didn' t see one and wanted to be sure I shot it because of how much you liked yours.
Getting a new bow for me would be stupid.........not that I might not still do it but there really is no need. In the end it' s your money and do whatever it takes to make you happy and confident in the woods.
I will however be taking your equipment reviews with a grain of salt in the future
Let us know how it works out.

First off, you' re thinking too much! If you are thinking and worrying about what you are shooting, or every shot you are shooting, you will make mistakes, and drive yourself nuts.
If the draw is getting harder, and you are having trouble with the bow wanting to creep out of the valley and " rip your arm off" or whatever, the draw length sounds like it is too long. Maybe your string stretched?
After handling a Patriot SC, and getting info from Jeff B. and Frank, I was tempted to get one as well, even though my main bow and two backups are all shooting very well (as long as I am not thinking too much).[&:]
You still have some time, but for me, I don' t want to be making any changes in my equipment this close to hunting season. I have spent too much time scrambling around with equipment at the last minute. It is much better to be confident in your shooting system and yourself between now and Oct. 4.
The leeches with the extended middle section (not sure what they call them) will last much longer than the older ones. They are holding up very well on my Pro 38 DC.
Best of luck finding what you want out of this situation. If your user name is a true indication of your hunting experience, you are gonna need a bow to shoot him with.

Jason,
Something changed........check your cam position against those timing marks as the string may have settled a little. Also make SURE that you have the stop peg EXACTLY where it belongs for an 80% let-off. Just being off a line or so will make a big difference.
That bow should have a real nice valley at 80% with no feeling of wanting to " take off" .
If it FEELS like 65% let-off it probably is. Check your manual.
This may also have contributed to your sudden change in accuracy?

What do you guys mean buy a more forgiving bow? What makes a more forgiving bow? I have also found out that if i start to really try to shoot really well and not just go w/it then i shoot bad and get really frustrated which makes me shoot worse.

I have tried gripping the bow differently, entirely open hand, very lightly closed around the grip, ect.
Try gripping the bow with your four fingertips on the very front edge of the bow ever so lightly and use a level on you sight pins.

Buck magnet, if you sell your mighty mite i feel like I' ll be the only sucker still shooting one[
], please don' t sell j/k.
your #2, #3 and #4 are what I' ve been complaining about. If you find the cure please fill me in as I would really like to love this bow!!
I feel like I need to move the peg a little further back, but my draw length is about as long as I can shoot comfortably as it already is. Seeing that I made my own 29.5" module I' m not sure where 80% letoff is, so I cut the mustard between the setting for the 30 and 29" draw modules.
I think during my next shooting session I will move the peg up and down to see how it feels.
And yes, the cam timing marks are perfect. Took both string and cable off and they measured just right (had to put extra twist in cable to get it to specs)
Maybe the 29" module and the peg let all the way out????
If there is no real difference between 65 and 70?? I may try that too. But right now 65 sure feels like 70[

This coming from the guy who found the " Perfect" bow a few weeks ago? You didn' t have any problems shooting it until your friend picked up the " Latest and Greatest" more expensive bow?
Sounds like a case of " VFT Envy"
Sounds like a case of " VFT Envy"
He' s right though about not having confidence in what you are shooting. If you aren' t completely satisfied with what' s in your hands...you' ll always be second guessing yourself.
Hope you get it figured out....sounds to me like something may have changed, since you say it is so different than it used to be. Double check everything for sure.
Of course...as a last resort, there' s always the Browning [

Jason,
I honestly thought I was seeing things when I first read the title to this post....but then I had a feeling that if you were going to be " pitchin' " the Mighty Mite then it probably was for another Bowtech...
I think you have been hangin' around some of the guys on this forum too long...myself included....if you feel the need to switch to a new bow already.
In all honesty I think everyone has a bad day with their bow from time to time. The point is to not let it discourage you. If you are asking for my opinion in terms of a comparison between the Mighty Mite and the VFT bows then I will say that the Mighty Mite does have more recoil than any of the VFTs simply because of the riser/limb design. It is to be expected. However, I think it would be sort of " neat" if Bowtech came out with a 31 inch VFT model to replace the Mighty Mite....maybe call it the Mighty Mite II or something. I would be willing to bet that it would be a hot seller.
I tend to agree that it is getting close to our bow season so getting a new one at this point might be somewhat out of the question. However, I must also confess that last year I ended up taking a brand new Razortec out into the woods after only owning it for a few days so my comment might sound somewhat hypocritical. If you eventually do decide to get a new bow then the Patriot SC gets my vote for best bowhunting design out of the 3 current VFT models. The brace height on the Extreme VFT is a tad too short for my tastes and the draw cycle on the Pat DC is not as conducive for hunting situations as that of the SC model in my opinion. However, going with a 60 lb model DC is definitely a viable option.
Hope this helps some.

I am keeping the bow guys, atleast until I see what comes out in 2004. If I can get these problems fixed, I will keep the bow. It was just a bad day shooting and I got a little to worked up about it
I just contacted Loesch about getting a new group for the bow, as the factory grip is a little wide and the area between the my thumb and pointer finger isn' t as round as I like.
DaveC,
These problems didn' t start till this past week, which is why I believe something is wrong with the bow. I am gonna get ahold of my tech guy on Sunday and see if he can take a look at it. The bow wasn' t always this harsh in the draw cycle, that is something that is new. The vibration and noise just came when the string leechs came off. One other thing is that my bottom string leech is the one that broke. The top one wasn' t served in but somehow managed to slide down and at full draw, it was covering half of my peep. That is why I took it off.
Hopefully there is just a tuning problem or something like that, because I really really want the bow to shoot like it did before. I just had it out shooting and I was drilling them in there again, but, I was just shooting for fun. God only knows where my arrows would go if I was sighting in
Another thing I noticed is that my Doinker stabilizer seems to be " breaking down" . The rubber section in the middle isn' t as sturdy as it was, and now the front weight is hanging down. (God that sounds wrong....... talking about a limp doinker
)
Another thing that I noticed today is that the rubber " o-rings" on the I-Cam had came off. I replaced that it isn' t as loud when I draw back, but, it didn' t seem to change much there.
But, I am gonna keep the MightyMite for this season atleast. I am just getting way to picky with it.

Here' s a solution that will work out great. Get yourself a longbow and some heavy wooden arrows. Shoot softball arcs at 20-30 yards for about six months until you' re proficient with it. After that, you' ll be impressed with the ease of shooting and accuracy of any compound bow in the market at hunting ranges. It' s all a matter of perspective. Sucky ol' 3" groups at 30 yards and one pin out to 33 is only a bummer until you realize how good you' ve got it with a setup shooting that fast and that accurate even on a bad day. If you had aspirations for being a national champ in the MBO class, I' d give you very different advice, of course. 3" groups at 20 or 30 yards sure won' t cut it for that.
